THE CANADIAN CONFERENCE OF CATHOLIC BISHOPS (CCCB) met this week “in person” in Cornwall, Ontario, for the first time in three years. In addition to the regular reports, appointments and approvals of financial reports, much time was spent discussing the commitment to Walk Together with the Indigenous peoples of the land. At the end of the meeting, the Bishops committed to continue to “Walk Together” with Indigenous partners on the journey to healing and reconciliation. The text of a statement from the CCCB can be read here.

I willingly join all who mourn her loss in praying for the late Queen’s eternal rest, and in paying tribute to her life of unstinting service to the good of the Nation and the Commonwealth, her example of devotion to duty, her steadfast witness of faith in Jesus Christ and her firm hope in his promises.
