The First Sunday of Advent marks the beginning of another liturgical year. It is a Holy Cross Parish, Georgetown Weekend ahead! Tonight the Catholic Women’s League in Georgetown celebrates its 60th Anniversary with a Mass followed by a reception. The Priests’ Advent Day of Prayer takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Our Sympathies to Father Duy Nguyen on the death of his father, Van Dong Nguyen in Vietnam yesterday. Congratulations to Sister Veronica O’Reilly, CSJ, who was elected this week to be the General Superior of the newly-formed Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada. Big “DO-INS” at the Cathedral on Sunday, the Feast of Christ the King!

The recently blessed Veterans’ Memorial at Marymount Cemetery in Guelph will be the site of a memorial service today. About 170 Priests who serve in the Diocese of Hamilton gathered at Holy Family Parish Croatian Centre yesterday for a professional development session facilitated by Sister Margaret Kane, C.S.J. Father Laszlo Amaszka and parishioners at St. Stephen’s Parish in Hamilton are to be commended for welcoming the Out of the Cold program to their Parish Centre.

All Souls Parish on Barton Street in Hamilton celebrates its 90th Anniversary this weekend. Congratulations to Mr. John O’Brien who marks his 25th Anniversary of service to the Diocese of Hamilton!
