Father Frank Ruetz, C.R. died on Sunday morning. He dedicated his life to Catholic Education and continued to serve until his death. “We Pray For God’s Gift of Healing and Reconciliation in Newtown and its surrounding communities. We pray also that the people of our two nations discover a rebirth of love and a renewed appreciation for the gift and value of each human life and every human family. “The Father Kyran Kennedy Catholic Education Centre” is the new name of the central administration building of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board.

Monsignor Aleksander Mierzwinski, former pastor of the Polish Congregation of St. Gabriel Parish, Burlington, died this week in Poland, Father Aleksander Mazur, SAC, current Pastor of St. Gabriel Parish, became a Canadian Citizen on December 11th, the staff of the Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Hamilton celebrates the season tonight with a festive dinner at the Grand Olympia.

Tonight the Catholic Women’s League in Georgetown celebrates its 60th Anniversary with a Mass followed by a reception. The Priests’ Advent Day of Prayer takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Father Laszlo Amaszka and parishioners at St. Stephen’s Parish in Hamilton are to be commended for welcoming the Out of the Cold program to their Parish Centre.

This appointment was announced at the conclusion of the Priests’ Seminar.

Phil Sherlock and Fr. Paul Boucher, all graduates of cathedral high school, participated at the 100th anniversary mass at the school last Sunday.
