Registration is well underway – the plan is to welcome 500 young people along with 100 leaders. The theme is: ALL ARE WELCOME! The day will be packed with activities including a keynote address, workshops, Mass, campfire, and fellowship!

The Honourable Michael Coteau, the new Minister of Children and Youth Services and Minister Responsible for Anti-Racism, visited the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton (CCASH) yesterday afternoon. The visit provided an opportunity for him to hear from staff about the good work and innovations of CCASH for the benefit of children in their care.

THE LUNAR NEW YEAR is celebrated in some of our cultural Parishes this weekend. Saturday, January 28th marks the New Year. Vietnamese Martyrs Mission in Waterloo celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish last weekend. This weekend celebrations will take place in our Korean and Vietnamese communities in Hamilton and Kitchener. We offer our congratulations and good wishes to the Asian Priests and parishioners in our Diocese who mark the beginning of the Year of the Rooster!

THE RECENTLY RE-OPENED NEWMAN CENTRE IN GUELPH made headlines in The Ontarion, the University of Guelph’s Independent Student Newspaper. The article featured photos of the Centre outside and Father Mark Morley, Ania Krysciak and a few students. A successful open house, earlier in the month, attracted students and members of the “Catholic community” at the University. We pray for blessings on the initiatives of the Chaplaincy at the University of Guelph!
