ReStart: Care for Divorced and Separated

Divorce and separation are painful periods in most people’s lives because they were not part of the plan when they married. This can be a time of both grief and pain. This is a time to look after yourself if you are going to ensure that your other responsibilities (children, job and/or family) do not suffer. For yourself and others in your life you care about, it is a time to work on being healthy and happy.

A few things to consider:

  • Attend support groups (see below)
  • Seek the help of a professional counselor as you transition into this new phase of your life.
  • Get enough sleep every day.
  • Eat healthy foods.
  • Avoid alcohol.
  • Exercise a few times a week.
  • Do not dwell on what you could have done or should have done.
  • Think carefully before dating again. You need time to heal.
  • Listen to soothing music to calm yourself, even at bedtime.
  • Pray daily for strength to get through this difficult time.
  • Ask for help from friends and loved ones.

10-week program

ReStart: Moving Forward

Our 10-week program offers support to anyone seeking to heal and move forward after divorce or separation. Sessions will run on Monday evenings from September 25 - December 4, 2023 from 7-9pm. Join us in person at the Chancery Office at 700 King St. W, or you are welcome to join our Zoom classroom.

Cost for materials is $35.00, but no one is turned away.

Ongoing support

ReStart: Refresh, Renew, Revive

A gathering for separated and divorced individuals offering learning, support, and fun! This program offers continual support and insights for people on their journey through the divorce/separation process and beyond.
The program will take place starting October 2023. (though there will be plans to meet in those months for a walk, picnic, or other fun events). The meetings will occur from 7-9 pm at the Chancery Office at 700 King St. West in person, or you are welcome to join by Zoom. If you wish to join you will need to call 905-528-7988 ext. 2249 or e-mail to let us know that you plan on attending one or multiple Friday sessions
