Date posted on June 12, 2026

On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters gathered at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville for the sixth Bishop’s Charities Invitational Golf Tournament.

The tournament welcomed 124 golfers for a day of fellowship, friendly competition, and charitable giving in support of De Mazenod Door. Thanks to the generosity of participants and sponsors, this year’s event raised $100,000 to support the organization’s mission of serving the poor and marginalized in Hamilton.

Marking its sixth tournament since inception, the Bishop’s Charities Invitational has now raised approximately $600,000 for charitable causes and outreach initiatives, reflecting the continued generosity of the Catholic community across the Diocese of Hamilton.

This year’s event was also a special occasion for Bishop Joseph Dabrowski, CSMA, who attended his first golf tournament as Bishop of Hamilton and enjoyed watching the game firsthand. Throughout the day, Bishop Dabrowski had the opportunity to meet golfers, sponsors, and volunteers while witnessing firsthand the spirit of generosity and fellowship that has become a hallmark of the tournament.

De Mazenod Door Outreach serves to improve and empower the lives of the poor and marginalized in Hamilton. Through its ministry of hospitality and compassion, De Mazenod Door provides food for the hungry and drink for the thirsty 365 days a year, offering a welcoming place where hope, dignity, and human connection can be found.

"Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Bishop's Invitational Golf Tournament in support of De Mazenod Door. Your generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment helped make the event a tremendous success. We are especially grateful to all the golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters whose efforts continue to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Because of your support, thousands of people will receive food, refreshments, and a welcoming place of care and compassion throughout the year. Thank you for helping us bring hope and dignity to those in need."

The Diocese of Hamilton extends its sincere gratitude to all who participated in and supported this year’s tournament. Together, your generosity will help ensure that De Mazenod Door can continue opening its doors to those most in need throughout our community.
