Ordination to the Transitional Diaconate

Ordination to the Transitional Diaconate of Moices Caballero and Joonbin Lim

Date posted on June 14, 2024

On the evening of Friday, June 7th, 2024, Moices Caballero and Joonbim Lim were ordained to the Transitional Diaconate. Bishop Wayne Lobsinger was the principal celebrant along with concelebrating priests and deacons. The Mass took place at St. John’s Parish in Kitchener.

A transitional deacon is one who is preparing for ordination to the Priesthood in the presbyterial order. During the ordination Mass, Deacon Moices and Deacon Joonbin were given the assent of the assembly; they both made a commitment to celibacy and promised to follow their vows. Afterward, they were both vested with stole and chasuble, and received The Book of the Gospels from Bishop Lobsinger.

We pray for Deacon Moices and Deacon Joonbim during this year and encourage you to keep them in your prayers as they continues their journeys toward the Priesthood.

“Look favourably on these your servants, we pray, O Lord, whom we humbly dedicate to serve at your holy altars in the office of the Diaconate. Send forth the Holy Spirit upon them, O Lord, we pray, that they may be strengthened by the gift of your sevenfold grace to carry out faithfully the work of the ministry.” (From THE RITE OF ORDINATION OF DEACONS)
