Highlights from the 2023 Papal Honours

Date posted on November 29, 2023

On Sunday, November 26th, 2023, hundreds gathered in the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King to celebrate the recipients of Papal Honours. The honours were conferred by Gerald Cyprian Cardinal Lacroix, Primate of Canada and Archbishop of Quebec. During his homily, he remarked:

“We have before us today, sixteen disciples of Christ, members of this Diocese and Catholic community, who have exercised in a very special way, the mission of being salt and light in their respective commitments, professions, vocations, families, communities. Before us are lay men and women, members of institutes of consecrated life and ordained ministers. Their lives are a witness in today’s world of how it is possible to be salt of the earth and light of the world. It is not only possible; it is necessary. Thank you, dear sisters, dear brothers, for who you are and for what you stand for, and for the example you have set for us.”

We offer our congratulations to all those who were honoured! Your exemplary service is inspiring! We invite you to see the full gallery below, as well as view the livestream from the event.
