World Youth Day Pilgrims Prepare for Lisbon!

With a little over a month to go until World Youth Day, pilgrims from our Diocese have been preparing for Lisbon with a full day retreat and evening Mass. On May 13th, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, the delegation walked the Hamilton Waterfront Trail from the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King, to St. Mary’s Proto-Cathedral followed by a full day retreat, Mass and Eucharistic Adoration, as well as a candlelight procession with Our Lady of Fatima through the streets of Hamilton. We were delighted to have our Diocesan Vocations Director, Father Mark Morley, with us for the day.

On May 31st, the Feast of the Visitation, some delegates gathered at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Hamilton for evening Mass and a special experience of Sung Vespers in honour of Our Lady of the Visitation as patroness of this year’s World Youth Day. This special time of prayer was followed up by an ice cream social hosted by the pilgrims.
