The sound of hundreds of smooches echoed throughout the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King on the afternoon of April 16th, 2023. Over 300 couples renewed their vows at the Wedding Anniversary Mass, held for the first time in-person since 2019. Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI, was the principal celebrant, who remarked at the collective 14,000+ years of marriage among those gathered there that day.
Organized by the Family Ministry Office, the Mass honours husband and wife as the foundation of the family, and salutes the beauty of their faithfulness, sacrifice and joy in daily married life. The Hamilton Spectator did a special highlight on Angelo and Audrey Accadia, who celebrate 75 years of marriage this year. CBC Hamilton also highlighted the Mass, including interviews with couples married 65 and 25 years, respectively.
