Ordination to Transitional Diaconate of John Ha, Paul Niesiobedzki, and Jonathan Reitzel

Date posted on July 13, 2022

On the evening of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, June 24, 2022, the Diocese of Hamilton welcomed three young men into the transitional diaconate. His Excellency, Bishop Lobsinger, Auxiliary Bishop of Hamilton, ordained Deacon John Ha, Deacon Paul Niesiobedzki, and Deacon Jonathan Reitzel

A transitional deacon is one who is preparing for ordination to the Priesthood in the presbyterial order. During the ordination Mass, Deacon John, Deacon Paul and Deacon Jonathan were given the assent of the assembly. Each made a commitment to celibacy and promised to follow their vows. Afterward, each deacon was vested with stole and chasuble, and received The Book of the Gospels from Bishop Lobsinger.

We wish each deacon well in the coming year and encourage you to keep them in your prayers as they continues their journey toward the Priesthood.
