Diocesan Office Closure
The Chancery Office will be closed on February 28th and March 1st. The entire Diocesan staff will be participating in a professional development program facilitated by Catholic Leadership Institute (the same organization that offers Good Leaders Good Shepherds). The offices will be open again on March 2nd.

2018 Rite of Election Highlights
The Rite of Election is celebrated on or near the First Sunday of Lent with all adults and children of catechetical age who are completing their period of preparation, who have found strength in God’s grace and support in the prayer and example of the community. These celebrations took place at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate in Guelph on February 11th and at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King in Hamilton on February 18th.

In Memoriam: Father Anthony Ciavarro
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Father Anthony Ciavarro, on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Please pray that Father Anthony Ciavarro may rest in the peace of Christ and that his family may be consoled in their faith in Christ.

The Lenten Season
Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 14th, 2018. It is a time of self-examination and reflection as it recalls or prepares for Baptism, and emphasizes a spirit of penance.

2018 World Day of the Sick
World Day of the Sick is an observance started by Pope John Paul II, which falls on the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes, on February 11th.
People around the world are encouraged to pray for the sick and for those who work very hard to ease the sufferings of the sick.

Rite of Election 2018
The Rite of Election is celebrated on or near the First Sunday of Lent with the catechumens who will celebrate the sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation, eucharist) at the upcoming Easter Vigil. We invite you to the upcoming celebrations on Sunday, February 11th in Guelph and Sunday, February 18th in Hamilton.

The 2018 Multicultural Mass
