
Bishop James H. MacDonald, C.S.C. 1978 - 1982

James H. MacDonald was born on 28 April 1925. He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1953 for the Congregation of the Holy Cross. On 9 February1978 he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Hamilton and Titular Bishop of Gibba. He remained with the Diocese of Hamilton until 1982 when he became Bishop of Charlottetown, P.E.I. In 1991 he was appointed Archbishop of St. John's, Newfoundland. Archbishop MacDonald retired on 4 December 2000.
