National Family and Life Week 2026

National Family & Life Week: May 10-17

Event Date: May 10, 2026

“I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20). These words of Christ at the time of his Ascension have been chosen as the theme for National Family and Life Week 2026, observed from Sunday, 10 May to Sunday, 17 May. Resources for the week are provided by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB).

Throughout the week, families, parishes, parish groups, ecclesial movements, associations, and Catholic schools are invited to pause and reflect on the gift of family life. It is a time to give thanks, extend forgiveness, and share meaningful moments with loved ones across generations. In doing so, we are reminded of the dignity of every human life and our call to love one another within our homes, our communities, and the wider world.

May the constant presence of Christ be a source of comfort, hope, and renewal for us all, as we walk with him in prayer and through the Sacraments, trusting in his promise that we are never alone, but accompanied always, “to the end of the age.”

Prayer for National Family and Life Week 2026

Good and gracious God,

In you we place our trust,
mindful of your constant presence and loving care.
Through your goodness
we have received life and the joy of living in
relationship with one another.
Guide our families during all stages of life
to seek your strength and comfort.
As we navigate the daily tasks of family life,
may we call on your Spirit to lead and inspire us.
Knowing the constant love you have for us,
may we offer praise and thanks to you.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.

Amen.
