Event Date: April 13, 2024
The Office for Evangelization & Catechesis is pleased to bring this spring workshop series.
Join us for this three-Saturday series reflecting on the New Vocabulary of Pastoral Ministry and How to Enact it in our Local Communities.
Each session runs from 10:00am – 2:00pm, including lunch. The cost of the workshop includes a copy of the workbook as well as refreshments. Total for all three sessions is $50.00.
Together we will work to unpack the latest resource in Pastoral Ministry, “The Pastoral Parish in the Modern World” by Bill Huebsch and David Wells. Over the course of the three weekends, we will explore the meaning and value of the most important tools for parish ministry today including: synodality, discernment, evangelization, accompaniment, and missionary discipleship.
Join us for this time of reflection, sharing and collaborative learning. Better yet, invite a friend to join you from your parish!
This session is now FULL.
Chancery Office, Hamilton (700 King Street West)
St. Michael’s Parish, Waterloo (80 University Ave W)
St. John the Baptist Parish, Guelph (45 Victoria Rd N)
Christina Mines, from the Office of Catechesis, and Rachel McNamara, from the Office of Youth Ministry. David Wells will be producing videos for us to help us unpack the resource and bring it to your parish
We will spend time each session to break open these new terms and concepts in parish ministry today. We will model how this resource can be used in the parish setting, and have conversations around these concepts with each other. Each session will focus on a different set of topics and the realities of them in parish life today. There will also be time for prayer to reflect on the conversations and topics.
Each session will provide you with supplemental resources that can be brought back to your parish setting to help you further support parish ministry in the modern world. The conversations and dialogue will also be fruitful takeaways for thought.
We understand the realities of parish life. If you have to miss a session, we will send you the David Well videos and other digital tools that are developed for the session.
