Safe explores the housing and opioid crises through the stories of tenants that live in Indwell affordable housing units. Filmed in Hamilton, London, Woodstock, Simcoe and Mississauga, SAFE follows Indwell, a Christian charity that focuses on supportive affordable housing for people experiencing poverty because of their mental health and/or substance use disorders. A Better Tent City follows a group of dedicated individuals, including those living rough, service providers, community members and municipal staff, working together to create a self-organized housing community in Kitchener, ON. Run time: 18 minutes
Fr. Toby Collins, C.R., Pastor at St. Mary, Kitchener will speak about Tiny Homes and A Better Tent City, and Jess Brand, Indwell regional manager for Hamilton, will discuss the community engagement, programs, and initiatives offered through Indwell.
