The Diocese of Hamilton Archives does not maintain sacramental records; rather they are kept within each individual parish. Requests for baptism, confirmation, or marriage records must be made to the parish at which the sacrament took place.
Contact information for the parishes in the Diocese of Hamilton can be found in our online directory.
If you do not know the parish where the sacrament was administered or if you need further assistance, please contact the Diocesan Archivist Ms. Dominy Williams at 905-528-7988 ext. 2252 or by email.
Please Note: The Diocese of Hamilton adheres to the same protocols for disclosing vital statistics as the Government of Ontario. Information can be disclosed as follows:
Baptism: 104 years after the date of baptism.
Marriage: 82 years after the date of marriage.
Death: 72 years after the date of internment.
Sacramental records less than the years specified above can only be supplied to the person named in the record or to a legal next of kin.
