National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we remember and honour the Survivors of the residential school system, the children who never returned home, their families, and all those who continue to live with its lasting legacy.
We are called to listen with humility, to acknowledge the truths of our shared history, and to continue walking together on the path toward healing and reconciliation.
To mark this day, the Canadian Catholic Indigenous Council and Our Lady of Guadalupe Circle have released a joint statement through the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, reflecting on the ongoing journey of Truth and Reconciliation and the importance of dialogue, accompaniment, and meaningful action.
