Extraordinary Minister of Communion Formation Workshop to the sick, homebound and hospitalized

2026 Extraordinary Minister of Communion to the Sick, Homebound and Hospitalized Formation Workshops

Event Date: September 11, 2026

Many parishes send extraordinary ministers to bring Communion (EMoC) to the faithful who are ill and deprived of their rightful and accustomed place in the Eucharistic community. EMoC, who have this responsibility, represents Christ and manifests faith and charity on behalf of the whole community toward those who cannot be present at the Eucharist.

It is helpful and important that EMoC receive formation regarding liturgical instructions and ministerial responsibilities. To this end, the Liturgy Office is offering formation workshops that will cover the following main points:

  • Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion to the sick as an extension of the Parish
  • Liturgical options and applications
  • Pastoral Issues
  • Resources
