February 1–7, 2026 Theme: Open Hearts, Healing, Hope
From February 1 to 7, 2026, the Catholic Church in Canada will observe National Catholic Health Care Week, an annual opportunity to recognize, support, and give thanks for Catholic health care and those who serve in this vital ministry. In the Diocese of Hamilton, St. Joseph’s Health System is one of the largest Catholic health systems in the country and a significant expression of the Church’s healing mission.
The 2026 theme, Open Hearts, Healing, Hope, reflects the profound belief that healing is communal and rooted in our shared humanity. Inspired by Catholic social teaching, the theme invites us to reflect on how our daily actions, decisions, and relationships contribute to a health system—and a society—where everyone belongs.
Parishes, Catholic organizations, and individuals across the Diocese are encouraged to mark this week through prayer, reflection, and engagement with the resources provided by the national organizers.
We invite the faithful to join in prayer and reflection during National Catholic Health Care Week, giving thanks for the ministry of Catholic health care and recommitting ourselves to the Gospel call to healing, compassion, and hope.
