The De Mazenod Door Outreach Centre downtown Hamilton, works diligently to provide support to local residents in need throughout the year. As we move into the colder months, it is important to consider ways in which we can offer assistance and support to these crucial programs.
The Diocese of Hamilton Office of Justice and Peace would like to extend an invitation to parishes, schools, and families, to participate in a Christmas Gift Bag Drive, in support of De Mazenod Door and its guests.
What is it:
On Christmas Day, each guest that comes to the De Mazenod Door will receive a warm meal and Christmas gift bag, filled with socks, gloves, hat, scarf, snack and bottle of body wash.
On New Years Day, each guest will receive a meal, and a $10 Tim Horton’s gift card.
These are important items that not only bring safety and comfort as the temperatures drop, but also care and hospitality to residents facing hardship.
Donation Drop-Off
December 1-18th at the Chancery Office, 700 King St. W. Hamilton ON. L8P 1C7
Important Details, Please Note:
Each gift bag will include the same combination of items – 2 pairs of socks, 1 pair of gloves/mitts, 1 scarf, 1 hat, and a toiletry kit.
The toiletry kit will include travel sized soap, toothbrush and tooth paste ONLY.
The sizes most needed are Men’s and Women’s Large
Donations should be clean and unworn. The bags will all be the same and will be packed by volunteers so no wrapping is necessary.
