The Season of Advent begins on Sunday, November 30th and spans the four Sundays leading up to Christmas, inviting us into a period of quiet preparation and hopeful anticipation for the coming of the Lord.
Throughout this sacred time, the Church draws our attention to two central mysteries of our faith: Christ’s return in glory at the end of time, and His first coming among us in the humble birth of Jesus. Advent calls us to embrace themes of watchfulness, readiness, and a renewed commitment to justice. As we begin a new liturgical year, the Church turns to the Gospel of Matthew as our primary guide (Lectionary Cycle A).
We encourage you to follow along with CCCB’s Journey through Advent series, as well as utilize resources from the Offices of Evangelization & Catechesis, found below.
