THE DIOCESAN MASS CELEBRATING THE BLESSING OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION, sponsored annually by the Catholic Education Partnership in the Diocese, was held last night at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King. This year, Mon Avenir Conseil Scolaire Catholique sponsored the event. The evening began with a panel discussion in McNally Hall led by Linda Staudt and Julian Paparella, focusing on the benefits of a good Catholic Education. A Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated in the Cathedral Basilica following the presentation. The evening concluded with a celebratory meal at the Nicholas Mancini Education Resource Centre. The annual event celebrates publicly-funded Catholic Education and draws together students, teachers, and trustees from the seven School Boards serving our Diocese! We are blessed!

JUBILEE YEAR HEROES OF HOPE FOR SEPTEMBER honours the “Season of Creation”. It is a time to reflect on our responsibility as stewards of creation, called to care for our environment as means of caring for one another and providing hope for future generations! It is also a time of reflection, repentance and solidarity as we commemorate the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and seek to bring about hope through the healing of past injustices! Copies of our Heroes of Hope bulletin are available in our parishes and here.
