Monsignor Doyle CSS Cambridge
Letters and Revelation on display at Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School in Cambridge on May 3rd, 2017. Students had the opportunity to learn about The Saint John’s Bible and have one-on-one interaction with it in the school chapel.
Gospels & Acts on display in the library at Holy Family School in Hanover on March 22. Later that evening, Christina Ronzio facilitated a visio divina with Gospel & Acts for a Lenten Retreat at Catholic Education Centre in Hanover.

Royal Botanical Gardens
6 Volumes of the Saint John's Bible were on display on March 11 at the Royal Botanical Gardens.
The event was put together by the Diocese of Hamilton in partnership with St. Jerome's University and the Royal Botanical Gardens. This rare opportunity featured talks from Sabrina Hall, entomologist at the RBG the Royal Botanical Gardens, and Father Michael Patella, OSB, chair of Committee on Illumination and Text for the Saint John's Bible.

The Reception of Letters and Revelation
Despite wintery conditions a beautiful reception for the next volume to arrive - Letters and Revelation - was held at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King. It started with a Mass followed by a talk by Cardinal Collins who gave us a deeper understanding of the Book of Revelation. Bishop Crosby and Father Wynen then presented Cardinal Collins with a piece of the original copper roofing of the Cathedral Basilica featuring an etching of the building. This was presented as a thank you in rememberance of his time here in our Diocese.

Year with The St. John's Bible
St. Jerome's University Event
In celebration of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, a prayer service was held at St. Jerome's University. This event kicked off St. Jerome’s “Year with The Saint John’s Bible”. It was a wonderful way for the Diocese of Hamilton to collaborate with St. Jerome’s University. Five volumes of The Saint John’s Bible were on display at a reception following the liturgy, with the Diocese of Hamilton adding Prophets, Letters & Revelation, and Wisdom to the Gospels & Acts and Pentateuch volumes that the University will have for the next year.

The Making and the Mission of the Saint John's Bible
Holy Rosary, Milton, CWL Event
Docent Maxine Whitehead provided a presentation to the CWL at Holy Rosary, Milton on the Making and Mission of The Saint John’s Bible. Maxine’s knowledge and passion were greatly appreciated by all those present at the meeting.
The Saint John's Bible at Christmas Time
Fr. Luke Kopaniak found a rather creative use to display the coffee-table version of The Saint John's Bible. For the Christmas masses at Our Lady of the Assumption in Brantford, he used Gospels & Acts as the crèche for baby Jesus! The banners he used for the manger backdrop are from the "Birth of Christ" illumination.
The Saint John's Bible at Cathedral High School
During the advent season Cathedral High School students were given the opportunity to view the Saint John's bible. This three day event from December 20-22, allowed the students an opportunity to get up close and explore the Bible.
Week with The Saint John's Bible
St. Patrick's Parish, Burlington
During the week of November 20th St. Patrick's Parish in Burlington shared the beauty and mission of the bible with their community through a series of events in the parish and the elementary schools. The events were led and organized by Mary Tessari a minister at St. Patrick's and a member of the St. John's Bible steering committee. Maxine Whitehead, the head docent for the Diocesan copy of the bible shared details of the history. Members of the Hamilton Calligraphers Guild were also present to talk about the artwork found in the bible, the tools of the trade and activities.
Feast of Christ the King
The weekend of the Feast of Christ the King, the Gospel reading was Luke 23 35-43 The Crucifixion. During Saturday and Sunday Masses, the image of the Crucifixion was projected during the Gospel and Homily. A reception in the hall followed with an opportunity for parishioners to view the Bible

Ascension Catholic Elementary School enjoyed a day with the Bible including a talk on the Bible, a “Tools of the Trade” workshop and a hands-on calligraphy activity
Welcoming the Saint John's Bible: Evening Prayer & Lecture
On September 15th, 2016, an Evening of Prayer and Lecture was held at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King to commemorate the arrival of the first volume of The Saint John's Bible, Gospels and Acts. Evening Prayer was celebrated with Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI, with wonderful music provided by the Diocesan Choir. Deacons John Moss and Rene Marechal carried the book in the opening procession and later opened the Bible to Luke 24, with a stunning illumination of the Crucifixion.
Mr. Jim Triggs, director of the Heritage Edition of The Saint John's Bible, was the lecturer of the evening. He offered wonderful insights into the creation of The Saint John's Bible, and how its main purpose is to “to ignite the spiritual imagination of believers throughout the world." Following the lecture, a gathering was held in McNally Hall, where many gathered to take in their first glimpse of Gospels and Acts.
St. Patrick's Staff Has a Day with The Saint John's Bible
On August 18th, 2016, staff from St. Patrick's Parish in Burlington gathered in Niagara Falls to learn about The Saint John's Bible. A special presentation was given by The Hamilton Calligraphy Guild, which delved into the hard work that went into the calligraphy portion of The Saint John's Bible. It also allowed a wonderful opportunity for staff to wield the tools of calligraphy themselves! This day was in preparation for St. Patrick's Week with The Saint John's Bible to be held in November of 2016.
Overview of The Saint John's Bible
On August 16th, 2016, a special workshop was held at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate in Guelph. An overview of The Saint John's Bible Heritage Edition was provided to Diocesan priests, clergy, and staff with a presentation by Jim Triggs, executive director of the Heritage Program.
