Ministers of the Word: Online Virtual Workshop
IN THE DIOCESE OF HAMILTON, MINISTERS OF THE WORD ARE INDIVIDUALS WHO WANT TO PROCLAIM THE WORD OF GOD AT MASS AND ARE CHOSEN BY PARISH PRIESTS. IN THE DIOCESE OF HAMILTON, MINISTERS OF THE WORD COMPLETE A PROGRAM OF FORMATION PRIOR TO RECEIVING A THREE-YEAR MANDATE FROM THE BISHOP OF HAMILTON TO EXERCISE THEIR LITURGICAL MINISTRY.
Due to COVID-19, the Liturgy Office will host a three (3) part formation workshop via ZOOM for those interested in becoming Ministers of the Word or renewing three year mandates.
The formation program will take place on three consecutive Mondays, beginning October 19th, 2020, from 7:00 pm to 8:45 pm (and continuing for the next two Mondays). Upon completion of the ZOOM sessions, if you are new to this ministry, your parish will arrange a practicum / orientation session.
What is the workshop about?
Sessions will cover different aspects regarding the importance and responsibilities of a minister of the Word, including Liturgy, the Mass, Bishop Crosby’s letter “Gathered into One,” preparation, useful tools and guidelines.
