Rite of Election

The Rite of Election is celebrated on or near the First Sunday of Lent with the catechumens who will celebrate the sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation, eucharist) at the upcoming Easter Vigil.

It is celebrated by the Bishop who, in the presence of the community, declares the Church’s approval of the catechumens for the celebration of the three initiation sacraments.
