Official Prayer for the World Meeting of Families
The World Meeting of Families in Rome, Italy, will take place in June of 2022. This international event is designed to be significant to people of all ages at all stages of life. Every keynote address and workshop will be based on Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia, or The Joy of Love.
The purpose of the WMF is to place families at the center of pastoral attention, which is reflected in this year’s theme, “Family Love: Vocation and Path to Holiness.” In the hope of engaging as many families as possible the events will be live streamed and recorded to allow for local celebrations, be it in homes, or parishes.
Pope Francis is inviting every Catholic family to take part in this important ecclesial moment and, for those who can, he looks forward to joining them virtually via live streaming of the WMF event from Rome.
The WMF is part of the current synodal journey of the Church and can prove to be a valuable experience of the “participation, communion and mission” of families in the life of the Church.
Official World Meeting of Families Song - "WE BELIEVE IN LOVE"
Parishes and dioceses are encouraged to plan initiatives for this “Family Week” in unity with families and dioceses worldwide. This event is an occasion to reinvigorate joy in the family as an image of God’s infinite love, and in turn, through the grace of the Holy Spirit, to support Catholic families as they bear witness to the Gospel of Christ’s love. The Dicastery for Laity Family and Life has a wonderful reflection on the catechesis for the WMF, each acting as perfect discussion points for families, either before or after the event takes place. Family Love: Vocation and Path to Holiness Video
In preparation for the 10th World Meeting of Families (WMF), the CCCB Standing Committee on Family and Life has produced a short promotional video to help bring to life the WMF theme “Family Love: Vocation and Path to Holiness”.
