Preparing for Vacation Bible School
in Pandemic Times

Is your parish considering hosting Vacation Bible School this coming summer?

As we continue to manage the effects of the ever changing pandemic we acknowledge that the pastoral care of parishioners and families is of top priority. For many of our parishes, experiences of Vacation Bible School in past years have always been opportunities for hospitality and welcome to families and evangelization of our children. These are precious moments.

Sadly, given the ongoing climate of the pandemic and the unpredictability of Summer 2021, it is under the advice of His Excellency, Bishop Crosby, that we ask that there be no in person gatherings for Vacation Bible School during the Summer of 2021. Parishes are welcomed and encouraged to host online or “at-home” Vacation Bible School experiences to support the ongoing faith formation of children and families as resource permits.

In preparation for this important ministry in the parish, the Office for Evangelization and Catechesis is offering an online workshop for parish ministers/volunteers planning for VBS entitled, “Preparing for Virtual VBS in Pandemic Times”.

The dates and times of the workshop are as follows, with registration now open!

Thursday, May 06, 2021: 7:00 - 9:00pm
Thursday, May 13, 2021: 1:00 - 3:00pm
