Information for Parishes
"May our united efforts help children be welcomed to the Sacraments with the preparation necessary fpr them to feel the fullness of joy that comes with God's grace!"
- Excerpt from Bishop Crosby's letter of introduction to the Sacramental Guidelines, 2012
The Catechesis Office is pleased to provide a number of supports to parishes for Sacramental Preparation for the Sacraments of Initiation.
Parents are advised to contact their local parish for information regarding preparing their children for Sacraments.
We have recommended resources available for purchase. We stock a variety of booklets and facilitator guides for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation and the full initiation of unbaptized children of catechetical age. Our materials are chosen for their solid and engaging content, flexibility in use, and reasonable cost. Materials can be ordered by contacting Monica Verin.

For Parents, Priests, and Catechists Preparing Children with Special Needs
We have models of sacramental preparation for each of the Sacraments of Initiation. These outlines assist parishes in designing meetings and retreats by suggesting the timing and content of meetings as a planning guide.
Training and other assistance
We are pleased to assist parishes in training volunteers in the use of any of our materials or in basic facilitation skills. Please contact us to discuss particular needs.
We also have recommendations of DVD resources, available through our Diocesan Library which can be used for parent meetings or as part of retreats.
