Diocese of Hamilton Student Award: Denzel Herrero

Denzel Herrero is the recipient of the Diocese of Hamilton Student Award from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School in Milton.

Denzel is a student who exemplifies servant leadership. He has contributed significantly to his parish through many years of altar service and has contributed to his school community through significant involvement in student council, mentorship, and liturgical ceremonies.

Denzel has also been an active member of St. Francis Xavier’s Students of Service and was the school’s first ever HCDSB Student Trustee. Denzel never turns down a request to serve and yet has also maintained admirable commitment to his academics and is graduating with an excellent academic record.

The Diocese of Hamilton Award is given to a student in the graduating class in every high school across the Diocese at the end of every school year. The Award recognizes a student in the graduating class who has attained high academic proficiency and exemplifies Catholic leadership qualities, Christian values and a commitment to service in the community.
