Ordination to the Priesthood: Father Hope, Father Theriault & Father Tracey

Ordination to the Priesthood: Father Hope, Father Theriault & Father Tracey

On May 5, 2018, the Diocese of Hamilton gained three new priests! Father Grayson Hope, Father Tim Theriault, and Father Christopher Tracey were ordained priests at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King in Hamilton by Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI.

The day started with a breakfast celebration among seminarians, priests, and guests who helped them along their way. Witness talks followed, where each ordinand spoke about the calling in their lives. Reflections were made on their incredible journeys, on the question of, "Is God enough for me?", and to not live life as a "lone ranger", but rather to surround themselves with brotherhood. Each spoke with with emotion upon realizing they were moments away from being ordained.

The Cathedral Basilica was full to witness the Rite of Ordination to the Priesthood. During the Homily, Bishop Crosby urged them to "be like Christ, the Good Shepherd." Let us pray that Jesus may be glorified in the ministry and service of these three new priests and all who serve in the name of Christ the Good Shepherd.
