Diocese of Hamilton Student Awards: Kate Jamieson

Diocese of Hamilton Student Awards: Kate Jamieson

Kate has been a blessing for Monsignor Doyle Catholic school community throughout all her four years. Her genuine compassion for all people and her positive disposition is infectious. Staff and students continue to witness Kate’s integrity and they are inspired by her.

Kate is the current Student Trustee for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. Kate is highly involved with Social Justice and the Relay for Life committee. Through her involvement in Social Justice, she has participated in, and organized events such as “Into the Cold”, which has raised awareness on the issue of homelessness.

Kate’s participation in our school’s Relay for Life committee and the Canadian Cancer Society speaks volumes to her sharing her own experience as a Cancer Survivor. Kate has also been involved with the Relay for Life at universities such as St. Jerome’s University in Waterloo. Kate’s future goals are paired with her genuine love for others. In 10 years, she hopes to be finishing her PhD in Child Psychology and she hopes to work in a school board with students who battle mental health.

Congratulations Kate!
