Diocese of Hamilton Student Awards: Juliana Giannini
The Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School recipient of the Diocese of Hamilton Award for 2018 is Juliana Giannini. Juliana has promoted Catholic values at the school through her diverse involvement in many organizations, including: Culture of Life, Diversity club, D.R.E.A.M.S., Chaplaincy team, ME to WE, Peer Mentors, Pilgrimage, Prayer team, and school liturgies.
Through her involvement at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Juliana has been a leader of a Bible summer camp, as well as a Minister of the Word and Eucharist. Even with all this diverse involvement, Juliana still finds time to lead Cancer Assistance Program fundraisers in her community. The Cardinal Newman community is very proud of Juliana’s many achievements!
The Diocese of Hamilton Award is given to a student in the graduating class in every high school across the Diocese at the end of every school year. The Award recognizes a student in the graduating class who has attained high academic proficiency and exemplifies Catholic leadership qualities, Christian values and a commitment to service in the community.
