Diocese of Hamilton Student Awards: Dominik Olejarczyk
The St. Mary's Catholic Secondary School (Kitchener) recipient of the Diocese of Hamilton Award for 2018 is Dominik Olejarczyk. Dominik has been an excellent role model among his peers by Altar serving for all school Masses over the past four years as well as participating in liturgical celebrations as a reader, altar server, and minister of communion. He has prayed the Hail Mary in Polish over the announcements, and spoke at the graduation exercises.
Outside of school hours Dominik has volunteered as a Hermit (praying for all participating in retreats) at YTOL (Youth Teams of our Lady), has worked at McDonalds and the Farmer’s Market and for a hobby he is a self-taught producer of electronic music from his digital audio workstation.
Dominik has attended the March for Life in Ottawa with the school the past four years, and he is a solid helper as a senior facilitating grade 10 retreats. As the youngest of 5 children with four older sisters Dominik has had lots of good role models in his life making him an ideal student, and friend.
The Diocese of Hamilton Award is given to a student in the graduating class in every high school across the Diocese at the end of every school year. The Award recognizes a student in the graduating class who has attained high academic proficiency and exemplifies Catholic leadership qualities, Christian values and a commitment to service in the community.
