Highlights: 2018 Advent Hymn Festival
On Sunday, December 2nd, the First Sunday of Advent, parishioners from across the Diocese filled the pews of the newly renovated St. Augustine's Parish in Dundas for the Advent Hymn Festival. It was a lovely evening of faith-filled prayer, scripture and song, and included the Prophets volume of The Saint John's Bible being on display, as well as a reception in the Parish Hall.
Highlights included the processional hymn, "O Come, O Come Emmanuel", which placed the choir members in various positions in the church before gathering together at the altar; a wonderful rendition of "Silent Night", and hearing both choir member and parishioner's voices echo within St. Augustine's for the concluding hymn, "Christ Be Our Light."
Special thanks to director Sharon Fazari, the instrumentalists, and the members of the Hamilton Diocesan Choir.
