Diocese of Hamilton Student Awards: Neil Tangcuangco

Neil Tangcuangco is a graduating student of St. John’s College and has plans to continue his post-secondary education in Business-media production in the area of Media and Creative Industry. Neil has boundless energy and smiles in everything he does and has demonstrated tremendous growth in his academic achievement over his four years at St. John’s College. He has made major contributions to St. John’s College in the Communications department through his production of videos and announcements, performing in the school plays, and involvement in school clubs, student council and teams.

His leadership is evident in the work he has contributed to our student council for three years including co-president in his senior year. His skills at creating videos and media presentations were very evident as Neil represented St John’s College at Skills Canada. Neil has also excelled as a leader for our mission trip to South Carolina. He is actively involved in his parish as an altar server. Neil shows enthusiasm working with his peers and is a role model with his positive attitude, innovation, perseverance and his endearing sense of humour.

The Diocese of Hamilton Award is given to a student in the graduating class in every high school across the Diocese at the end of every school year. The Award recognizes a student in the graduating class who has attained high academic proficiency and exemplifies Catholic leadership qualities, Christian values and a commitment to service in the community.
