28th Annual Bishop's Charities Dinner Dance
The 28th Annual Bishop’s Charities Dinner Dance in honour of The Most Reverend Douglas Crosby, OMI, was held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Carmen’s Banquet Place in Hamilton, Ontario.
Approximately 900 guests attended this year’s sold out gala presented by the Knights of Columbus Districts 8 – 60 – 83 and 100 in the Greater Hamilton Area, under the direction of Mr. Fred Miscio. This remarkable event has grown in renown over the years and so has the generosity of countless supporters. Last year, net proceeds totaled a record-breaking $75,000.00!
“The fact that you come out and support such an evening is a sign of holiness- your holiness! I want you to know that this is a holy gathering, good people coming together in peace and joy, celebrating life and faith and accomplishing something good for the benefit of others! That is holiness plain and simple!” Bishop Crosby said during his address to the guests.
The funds raised will be used to provide financial support to various charities within the Diocese of Hamilton and one particular work in the Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador. “In that way, we will all participate in those works and benefit from God’s grace that flows from them.” Bishop Crosby said in his closing remark.
