Stewardship and Development Coordinator

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton, established in 1856, is the second largest diocese in English speaking Canada and serves the needs of more than 626,000 Roman Catholics, throughout Southwestern Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Stewardship and Development, this new position will provide logistical, administrative, and communications support to various programs within the Office of Stewardship and Development. This will include a Diocese-wide planning study and proposed capital campaign.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate various mail, phone, and electronic communications and ensure their distribution in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
  • Oversee the scheduling of a large volume of personal interviews, small and large group discussions, and various other meetings and communications
  • Plan and coordinate various events, receptions, and gatherings
  • Coordinate the maintenance and distribution of various online and print communications, including website updates, mailings, electronic mail distributions, and social media posts
  • Prepare and organize materials for various Parish and regional programs, events, and meetings
  • Serve as the main point of contact with pastors, staff, and volunteers
  • Other various duties as assigned


  • Understanding and knowledge of the Catholic Church and willingness to support its mission
  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma
  • 3 to 5 years of fundraising, administrative, or office experience preferred
  • Organization: ability to plan large & small events, handle multiple tasks, and manage time effectively
  • Communications: speaking and writing clearly and effectively without errors
  • Technical skills: must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Database management experience is preferred
  • Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality, collegiality, and professionalism
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel within the diocese

This is a full-time, limited term position, with a 3-year term beginning in Spring 2018. The position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package along with a great work environment.
